The CLP (classification, labelling and packaging), Regulation (CE) 1272/2008 

Regulation on classification, labeling and packaging of substances and mixtures (CLP) entered into force in January 2009 and the method of classification and labeling of chemicals from it introduced is based on the global system harmonized United Nations (UN GHS).

The regulation will replace over time the previous two pieces of legislation, namely the directive on hazardous substances and the Directive on dangerous preparations, with a transition period until 2015.

Together with Biocides Regulations, another major challenge for manufacturers of insecticides and rodenticides.
